Ian Oliver is a partner in Powell and Oliver Agricultural Consultants, working in Monmouthshire and Powys. Edward Perkins runs a Chartered Surveyors practice in Haverfordwest which he originally opened as a branch of John Francis and Sons in 1972. His previous work included general auctioning and sales and valuations. His present practice covers all of West Wales, and he offers valuations, rural and farm property sales, agricultural tenancies and law. He works alongside his colleagues Arwel Davies and Heather Thomas, and is assisted by part-time staff. Prior to this he spent five years working as a herd manager for a range of farming businesses. Julie has an MBA from the University of Glamorgan, and a BSc Honours in Agriculture from Nottingham University.She and her husband currently farm 300 acres in the Rhondda Valley, and run two flocks of sheep,a pedigree S Wales mountain flock, and a flock of commercial Suffolk crossbred ewes for lamb production. They market many of the lambs direct to the public and through Farmers' Markets.
Julie is a marketing and diversification expert and is well known for her skills in communication, motivation, entrepreneurship and innovation. Her specialisms include hill farming, sheep and beef, and "any enterprise that interfaces with the public". She has spent 15 years in Direct Sales, so can bring marketing and sales skills to rural investment projects.
Julie is also a training provider for Lantra Awards. She has run training courses for women in the countryside on diversification and rural business skills. She can also offer equestrian expertise through a colleague associate.
